Jay Hsu is our Practice Leader for Legal & Compliance. He is responsible for overseeing and developing HRnetOne’s Legal & Compliance recruitment function within various Asian markets, with specific focus on Greater China (Shanghai), Taiwan, and Japan (Tokyo). He is also a US-qualified lawyer, having actively practiced law for 4 years (in both United States and Asia) before becoming an executive legal recruiter.
Before joining HRnetOne, Jay worked for a major global recruitment company, Hays Specialist Recruitment, in Tokyo Japan, where he specialized in legal and compliance recruitment and built the Hays Legal team in Japan. His specialty is the placement of mid- to senior-level in-house counsels, heads of legal, law firm partners, and senior attorneys for both commercial companies and international law firms. In less than 3 years, he grew the team’s revenue to 270% (as compared to the year before) and became the company’s top 6 biller in Asia (2015) – out of 400 consultants. He had also won numerous awards including Platinum Placer Award (2014) and a Best Agent Award (2014) from a major global fashion company. During his tenure, he continued to develop his team’s understanding of the legal market, as well as building strong and long-lasting relationships within the Tokyo legal market. He has now brought his credentials to HRnetOne with the determination to build Asia’s most professional and trustworthy Legal & Compliance recruitment team.
